⚠️ Warning: If you're not experienced with A/C systems, it's best to have a professional do this. A/C systems are under high pressure and use regulated refrigerants.
New compressor (AA69-19D629-AB)
A/C manifold gauge set
Vacuum pump
PAG oil (check exact type for your vehicle)
R-134a refrigerant
New receiver/drier or accumulator (recommended)
New O-rings
Serpentine belt tool
Torque wrench
Recover Refrigerant
Use an A/C recovery machine to safely evacuate refrigerant (R-134a) from the system.
Remove Serpentine Belt
Release belt tension and remove the belt from the compressor pulley.
Disconnect Electrical and A/C Lines
Unplug the compressor clutch connector.
Carefully unbolt and remove refrigerant lines (note O-ring positions).
Unbolt and Remove the Old Compressor
Remove the mounting bolts and take out the compressor.
Install the New Compressor
Add the correct amount of PAG oil to the new unit (if it’s not pre-filled).
Replace O-rings with new ones lubricated with PAG oil.
Mount and bolt down the new compressor.
Reconnect A/C Lines and Electrical Connector
Reinstall Serpentine Belt
Evacuate and Recharge the System
Use a vacuum pump to evacuate air/moisture for 30–45 minutes.
Recharge the system with the correct amount of R-134a.
Test Operation
Start the vehicle and turn on the A/C.
Check for cold air and unusual noises or leaks.
Always replace the receiver/drier when changing the compressor.
Flush the system if the old compressor failed catastrophically (metal shavings).
Verify clutch operation and correct oil charge before closing up.
Perform a leak test using UV dye or a sniffer after the install.
